The Perennial Homestead
The Perennial Homestead is owned and operated by Ali and Scott Yahnke and is located just a stones throw north of Omaha in Ponca Hills. Their homestead is an old dairy farm where they have an amazing farm stand with seasonally fresh goodies, but they also have an online store for year-round shopping. Their amazing story started with caramels with a recipe that Ali learned from her grandfather. She would make caramels for friends and family around the holidays and each year more and more people began to ask for them. Eventually they turned a passion into a business back in 2013. They were branded as the Snowshoe Candy Company, but later transitioned to The Perennial Homestead as their business has evolved to be way more than just candy, but don’t get me wrong, their classic sea salt caramels are nothing short of amazing.
The Perennial Homestead is a family business just like ours and we love the partnership that we have developed with Ali and Scott over the years. Their mission is to provide a seasonal array of locally crafted items and specialty goods designed to elevate your daily life- or as they like to say: “Simple Things for Special Days”. In addition to their famous caramels, they also produce peanut brittle, caramel corn and chocolate caramel turtles. Their online shop features a selection of pantry goods like heirloom popcorn and baking mixes, honey and herb salts, as well as hand-crafted home goods like handmade linens, handcrafted ornaments, simple home décor, home-grown floral arrangements, vintage finds and well-made goods.
Here is the film that we produced that dives into their story a little further. We loved spending the day on their farm!
