Sweet Magnolias Bake Shop

Located in Omaha's historic Joslyn Castle neighborhood and a new location coming soon to Millwork Commons , Sweet Magnolias Bake Shop is a boutique bakery specializing in perfectly crafted, melt-in-your-mouth confections. From buttery, soft cinnamon rolls to their signature Brown Sugar Cardamom cake, each recipe is expertly developed to both inspire the palate and evoke a sense of delicious nostalgia- to strike a perfect balance between imaginative and timeless. Most importantly, they use from-scratch ingredients and make every item by hand in their little kitchen, so collaborating with them is a no brainer for us as we share the same philosophy.

Sweet Magnolias Bake Shop is owned and operated by Katina Talley. Growing up in a foodcentric household in rural Nebraska, Katina learned to cook and bake alongside her mother, father, and grandmother. Her passion for culinary exploration continued to grow as she pursued a degree in Food Science & Technology at the University of Nebraska Lincoln and intensified as she began her career as a Food Scientist in the ConAgra Foods bakery lab. She found that in the corporate world, she was constantly having to convince people to back her ideas. Now that she’s on her own, she can explore ideas and concepts that are meaningful to her.

Our collaboration started with Sweet Magnolias shortly after they opened. We started talking about fun ways we could create together and started with the brownie sundae. From there, we played with more of their amazing goodies like their cherry pie bars, oatmeal cookies, lemon bars, and salted honey cookies.
