Grand Patisserie

We first met Grand Patisserie owners Zied and Rafika after asking around town about who makes the best macarons. They didn’t yet have a brick and mortar location or even an online presence, but they came highly recommended. We called, introduced ourselves, and inquired about buying macarons from them for our ice cream. Some time passed and we didn’t hear anything back, so we assumed the answer must be no. Then, after a month or so, Zied responded and said that he had come into our shop to try our ice cream. He said he could taste real quality ingredients and was very impressed and that he would definitely sell his macarons to us. That is about the highest compliment we could ever receive!

Zied and Rafika are extremely meticulous about only using the highest quality fresh ingredients. Zied could write a book about his techniques and philosophy. Their commitment to not just quality and thoughtful technique, but also to the local creative community is so inspiring. Zied once told us how in France, you see many local bread makers on the same street, but each one has a unique and special product, and each one a master at their niche of the craft. And all of them are successful and fully supportive of all of the other businesses. This philosophy really resonated with us!

We use their ladyfingers in our tiramisu ice cream, their almond tuiles for our ice cream “tacos”, their Algerian-style baklava “breeka”, and many other amazing products in our ice cream. We value our partnership with them are proud of the flavors we have created with their products.
